Ladies 8ths 6 matches in 3 weeks!

Ladies 8ths March 2015
After a particularly cold January left several matches postponed due to frost, the 8s had a bit of a backlog to clear, playing two matches a week for the past three weeks! There was many a desperate, last minute text from me looking for players (I’m sorry Bernie!), but on the whole we had a pretty consistent squad.

After a rocky start, losing our first double weekend 2-0 against top teams, Muckross 5s and Wicklow 1s, the 8s pulled two consecutive draws out of the bag against two other leaders, UCD 7s and North Kildare 4s. Outcomes aside, our players put everything into these games and should be very happy with their performances. All of this hard work was rewarded this week when the 8s beat Clontarf 5s 2-1 at home in Pembroke with brilliant goals from Alva Lawlor and Maricel Bautista.

With the 6th match to play this Saturday and only one more remaining this season, the 8s are hoping to end on a high! Looking forward to the social this weekend and the lady’s dinner next month,

Georgia (8ths captain)
