Ladies fight back for UCD draw

Pembroke snatched an equaliser five minutes from time to take a point from an even game at Serpentine Avenue against UCD. Former Pembroke stalworth Kerry McComish’s strike gave the students the lead but the lead was cancelled out by a Sarah Clarke at corner time, striking low in a well worked move.

Another corner, and another goal – this time Lisa Jacob converting for College from a switch left, the shot deflected in unluckily off a Pembroke leg and into the goal to give the students a 2-1 advantage at half-time.

Pembroke came out fighting after break to give a much more solid performance and were deserved of their equalizer with only 5 minutes to spare.

Hilda Maguire proved to be the hero, slotting home from a tight angle to give Pembroke a much needed point and a boost ahead of tommorrow’s Cup Final Semi against Hermes at St Andrews.
