Ladies 2nds progress to Semi-Finals IJC

Match Report from Ciara Howard (Captain) & Katie Ryan We were up bright and early to travel to Cork, leaving a frozen pitch in Pembroke at 8.30am, hoping for warmer weather as we headed South. The journey didn’t faze us, and we forced the Harlequins keeper to make some great saves in the start of…

Keith Crawford Talks . . . Season just gone

About Season just gone On behalf of the Ladies 1st Team we would just like to thank you for all your support throughout the season. The support from the Club and the spectators has been fantastic and is not something we take for granted. It has been an exciting and enjoyable first EYHL season and…

Keith Crawford Talks . . . Railway Union

ABOUT RAILWAY UNION–SATURDAY 16TH APRIL AT 2.30 PM AWAY We gave the girls a couple of weeks off after our last match against Ards back in March. We’ve been back training for 3 weeks now and we’ve mixed normal pitch sessions with some 8v8 matches against other clubs and a friendly match against UCD last…

Keith Crawford Talks . . . Ards

ABOUT ARDS–SATURDAY 12TH MARCH AT 2.30 PM AWAY We are very happy with last week’s result against Hermes but, more importantly, the performance as well. The girls worked as hard as they possibly could and it showed in the second half as they grew in to the game and eventually got the goals they deserved.…

Keith Crawford Talks . . . UCC

ABOUT UCC–SATURDAY 20TH FEBRUARY AT 2.30 PM IN PEMBROKE Last weekend was very disappointing for us as it was an important game and we did not play near to our potential. Having said that, Cork Harlequins played a really strong game and there was no question that the better team won. Perhaps there are some…

Keith Crawford Talks… Cork Harlequins

ABOUT CORK HARLEQUINS–SATURDAY 13TH FEBRUARY AT 2.30 PM AWAY A very disappointing result in a game where we felt we performed reasonably well. It was the kind of game that could have fallen either way and we just didn’t get the rub of the green this time. There are no new injuries to report thankfully…

Keith Crawford Talks . . . Pegasus

ABOUT PEGASUS–SATURDAY 6TH FEBRUARY AT 1.00 PM IN PEMBROKE We were happy to come out of a potentially tricky fixture with 3 points although elements of our performance did let us down. We weren’t as clinical as we would have liked to have been, particularly from the short corner phase. There are no new injuries…

Keith Crawford Talks . . . Greenfields

GREENFIELDS SATURDAY 30TH JANUARY AT 2.30PM IN PEMBROKE Last week was one of our better performances this season and obviously we were happy to pick up the three points as well. We passed the ball very well, particularly in the 1st and 3rd quarters but there were also elements to be worked on and hopefully…

Keith Crawford Talks…UCD

ABOUT UCD –SATURDAY 19TH DECEMBER AT 2.45PM AWAY Our focus last weekend was primarily on improving our performance from the week before. I think this was achieved as we kept the ball much better than we have been in previous weeks and made some improvements defensively too. Railway Union is a very good side that…

Keith Crawford talks Last Weekend

Keith Crawford Talks… ABOUT LAST WEEKEND It was great to win two games from the double weekend and most importantly, to keep improving game by game. Our target for the weekend was to focus on each match separately and make sure we made adjustments from our last few games. We felt the girls managed the…

Keith Crawford talks… Greenfields & Ards

ABOUT GREENFIELDS –SATURDAY 21ST NOVEMBER AT 2.20PM AWAY ABOUT ARDS – SUNDAY 22ND NOVEMBER AT 2.30PM IN PEMBROKE   Our aim is to always win each game and unfortunately that wasn’t to be the case. We were playing a top quality side in UCD and despite that there were huge positives versus previous performances that…

Keith Crawford Talks … UCD

ABOUT UCD –SATURDAY 14th NOVEMBER AT 2.00PM IN HOME It was important for us to get back to winning ways after a couple of disappointing weeks so from that point of view we were obviously happy to take 3 points from a tough trip like that away to UCC. As well as that there were…

Keith Crawford Talks UCC

KEITH CRAWFORD TALKS… ABOUT UCC –SATURDAY 7th NOVEMBER AT 3.00PM AWAY We’re obviously disappointed with our last couple of results but the nature of the competitions we play in is that there will be plenty of ups and downs as the season progresses. There are a couple of things we need to get right but…

MINSK 2015

On the 19th of May, the Pembroke ladies firsts assembled at Dublin airport to embark on a trip to Minsk to compete in the Euro Hockey Club Champions Trophy. After a three-hour flight to Lithuania, a four-hour bus journey and a nervous border crossing, we arrived at Hotel “Belarus” and went straight to bed for an early start in the morning.
