Pembroke open league defence with YM win
Pembroke Wanderers Men came back from 1-0 against YMCA down at Milltown to take full points on their first outing of the new season.
A second half 3 goal response from the reigning champs could not be matched by YMCA who had taken an early lead through Jamie Tobin, finishing off a great individual effort.
Pembroke missed a stroke before half time, but were on the ascendancy and this eventually told shortly afterwards when Ronan Flannery reversed high into the net. Alan Sothern gave Pembroke the lead from close range soon after before Mossie deflected a Conor Harte drag flick home with only 10 remaining.
A good start so for the lads in their quest to retain the Leinster Division 1 title this season – who will have been buoyed by the return of international defender Conor Harte from SHC in Holland, while Tim Hill also returns to add extra fire power up front.
