Pembroke finished off the season in style by defeating Loreto Dalkey in the final of the Shield. A great performance started well with a goal by Sarah Byrne early on in the match. Pembroke continued to restrict their opponents to very few chances with very strong performances from the backline and good pressure from the forwards. In the second half Pembroke increased the pressure on Loreto and this paid off with a second goal. Afterwards Pembroke showed their maturity by playing some nice hockey without conceding too many opportunities, Nicola Kenny intervening whenever there was any danger. Finally Naomi got a third goal when Loreto removed their keeper. A great end to the season! Well done Ladies.
