Zaffer Hockey Camp

Midterm break – October 25th – 28th 2010, Pembroke Wanderers Hockey Club
Age Groups: Group 1(U8-U12) Group 2(U14-16) both Girls and Boys

Description: The courses are split into groups according to age and ability. Each of the groups covers all aspects of the sport from basic handling skills to game play situations and set plays.

Cost: €100 (For the Four DAYS, payable up front on first day) €30 (Deposit to confirm booking)

Course Overview: Each course focuses on player development from relative beginners to intermediates and beyond. We incorporate core skills and key elements that will assist players to the next level, whether it being for school, club, provincial, or even international teams. And other specialist hockey *drills for dragflicking, throwing aerials passes, 3D skills and goalkeepeing specific drills are also planned and prepared for the sessions.*

Aim: To bring a different hockey coaching style, playing methods and understanding to the players or involved for the entire week.

Brief Description of Coaches / Who we are:
Brendon Carolan, is a High Performance FIH Qualified coach, and was awarded South African Coach of the year for 2009. He is currently the Men’s Head Coach of the Province of KwaZulu Natal in Durban, South Africa, who was the Provincial winners in 2009 and 2010. He has also been Head Coach for South Africa U17, U18 and U19A Teams from 2008 to date, and was recently appointed as the Pembroke Wanderers Men’s 1st team coach.

Gowan Jones, has a South African Level 1 Coaching certificate, and has coached provincial age group teams in Kwazulu-Natal over the past 2 years, and has represented the South African U18 and U21 sides, and recently been at the South African Men’s camp for the FIH World Cup.

Jethro Eustice, has also a South African Level 1 Coaching certificate, and has been coaching school and provincial age group teams in Kwazulu-Natal Midlands over the past year. He has represented South African in the youth age groups, and recently attended the South African U21 Camp.

Brendon Panther has a South African Level 1 Coaching certificate. He has represented South Africa at the Junior World Cup, and recently been at the South African Men’s Camp for the Commonwealth Games 2010.

Sessions: All players will be training through all the sessions for the entire four days
